About Our Opportunity

Our Fraud Manager develops, implements, enhances and maintains aspects of a fraud program to promote adherence to internal fraud-related procedures and processes and existing, new or revised regulatory requirements and/or best practices. This role serves as a fraud subject matter expert for our Association.

How You Will Spend Your Time

  • Identify, measure, monitor and report fraud risk. 
  • Research, recommend and implement fraud detection and investigation software. 
  • Monitor and handle alerts from third party vendor to determine whether fraud has occurred. 
  • Ensure that policies, procedures and programs comply with applicable regulatory requirements and mitigate fraud risk. 
  • Assist in the creation, review and updating of processes, procedures, policies and job aides. 
  • Develop adherence and escalation framework for fraud program. 
  • Develop and facilitate fraud training programs. 
  • Create reporting that outlines shifting fraud trends to mitigate fraud losses. 
  • Lead fraud sub-team/committee to discuss trends and losses that reports to Operational Risk Committee.
  • Assist leadership in determining acceptable fraud risk tolerances. 
  • Provide direct support to cross functional teams to identify fraud red flags and promote mitigation solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on fraud-related matters as projects and initiatives are introduced, implemented and revised. 
  • Participate on the front end of new product and service development to proactively consider and address fraud issues during implementation as well as provide ongoing support post-implementation. 
  • Monitor emerging fraud issues and assist in assessing potential exposure to the Association. 
  • Investigate all fraud-related cases referred by business partners. 
  • Conduct interviews with customers, employees and potential victims to compile research.
  • Maintain detailed records of all investigations. 
  • Assist Legal with gathering information to ensure criminal referrals are completed as required. 
  • Partner with law enforcement when necessary to assist investigations. 
  • Participate in the development and/or presentation of an overview of the Association’s fraud program to senior leaders or others as appropriate or requested. 
  • Participate in creating fraud updates for team members and customers to publish on company intranet, website or distribution via other channels.

Minimum Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, agribusiness, or equivalent experience. Ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years related experience in the fraud or anti-money laundering field related to commercial lending, consumer lending, consumer or agricultural servicing, or another highly regulated field relating to financial services. Experience with and understanding of Fair Credit Reporting Act and other regulations as applicable. Certified

Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified AML and Fraud Professional (CAFP) designation preferred or be willing to obtain certification.

  • Use a computer and similar office technology and tools. This involves reading the screen and keying/typing information. 
  • Speak and make presentations to individuals or groups on technical subjects related to job. 
  • Travel via auto or commercial transportation to carry out essential responsibilities of the job. 
  • Successfully interact with and represent the organization to customers, staff, officers, board members, vendors, and/or the public at all levels. 
  • Provide sound technical advice to customers and other staff in the subject field(s) related to this position. 
  • Understand and explain various subject matter and consulting concepts, programs, terminology, and methods. 
  • Reason, judge, compare, calculate, evaluate, decide, and critique such information as written material, numerical data, responses to customer needs, and/or other related work activities.
